I started performing at age 6, when I sang The Monkees' "Daydream Believer" at the Glenvar Elementary School Talent Show. I have been performing and writing music ever since. In 2003 I received a B.A. in Jazz Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University, with a major in Drum Set and a minor in Piano.
My main gig is currently playing drums and percussion for The Invincible Czars. During the day I teach language, math, science, social studies and peace education at Live Oak Community Montessori School (www.LiveOakCM.org). I've independently released 3 solo CDs, "IS" (1999), "ON" (2003), and LEAVING & RETURNING (2004), and an original opera entitled "TELEVISION & OTHER FORMS OF TIME TRAVEL." Some of my original music is posted at www.LLmusic.net.
Since 2007 I have taught drum set, piano, guitar/voice, theory and more at Red Leaf. I love learning from my students and practicing the most important skill for any musician -- listening.
